Chapter 1: Where do we Begin?

Long time BFF’s, Summer Holiday, Travis Scott and Liberty Lee just graduated high school and wanted to move to the big city together to start their new chapter. They had all been accepted to the same college in San Myshuno.

Because the college was the hot spot to go for most small town Sims,, it ran out of housing for freshman very quickly. The trio was left trying to figure out their living situation with very little time left before classes started. Driving from Willow Creek to San Myshuno each day for classes was out of the question. They were unsure where to begin their search for an apartment, but Travis was able to help fix their issue.

“Hey guys!” Travis yelled from his childhood bedroom, “one of my gamer buddies just told me his ex girlfriend lives in San Myshuno and she’s looking for roommates.”

“Eh, don’t you think that’s a bit odd?” The cautious Liberty asked.

“I mean, it’s strange, but I’ve known this guy for years and he said she’s only a little crazy.” Travis shrugged, “Besides would you rather me look on DonsList?”

Liberty made a sour face. That site was good in the beginning but quickly became a trap for sketchy sims to do sketchy things.

“Oh come on, Lib!” Summer chirped, “we can at least meet the girl, besides we have to fill out paperwork, submit documents and all that legal stuff you love before we could move in.”

Liberty sighed and looked at them with defeat in her dark eyes. Summer grinned and hugged Travis tightly before bouncing out the door. Travis laughed uncomfortably, as he always did around Summer. Liberty frowned and followed her energetic best friend.

“Set up the meeting, Travis,” she grimaced before leaving his room, “we’ll see how this goes.”

Travis set up a meeting with the landlord and explained the situation. The man was polite and set up the appointment almost immediately. That Saturday, they drove to the city to see their potential apartment and meet with Melody Waters.

“Why hello there!” her loud, harmonious voice filled the hallway as the three approached her.

The group waved cautiously. The landlord laughed and explained that Melody was a social butterfly who never met a stranger. That made Liberty tense up and Summer just laughed. Summer too was an outgoing girl, though, maybe not that outgoing!

The trio quickly learned that Melody had also just graduated high school, but she grew up in San Myshuno. Previously, she lived in the building where the Stargazer Lounge was located. It was her father’s greatest joy, but Melody hated it and was ready to move on from that scene.

“It’s really great to meet all of you!” Melody chirped, “I was told if I couldn’t find a roommate or two that I couldn’t afford to live here on a barista’s salary.”

Summer smiled brightly at the ray of sunshine that was embodied as an overly excitable blonde barbie doll. Liberty kept quiet as she stared at Travis who was preoccupied with Summer’s dreamy gaze.

“We are just so happy you had space, we are starting college in less than a month and need housing or we forfeit our spots and scholarships.” Summer frowned.

“Oh cool! I didn’t think of going to college just yet, but it’s great you three are getting it out of the way!” Melody smiled, “So what do you three do for work?”

They looked at one another and then to Melody, “Actually, nothing yet.” Travis blurted out nervously.

“Seriously?! You didn’t even have part time jobs in high school?” Melody’s eyes went wide.

“No…” Liberty glared at Travis, “is that going to be an issue?”

“Well no, but you’ll need to find work soon. Luckily, I can get you all nice part time jobs to work around your school schedules!” Melody boasted.

Liberty rolled her eyes hoping the lack of work experience would be off putting. She still wasn’t thrilled with the idea of moving in with a complete stranger in a different part of the world. That was until Melody brought up an interesting point.

“Now, I know my ex told you, Travis, that I needed roommates, but their is an issue,” she frowned, “I only have two bedrooms in this apartment and I mean there’s nothing wrong with coed or having three girls in one room, but they really only have room for two to live in comfortably.”

“I don’t mind sharing with a girl,” Travis swallowed hard and glanced at Summer.

“Great! That’s one issue settled,” She smiled happily, “the other is, who will sleep where?”

Travis was about to speak up when Summer cut him off.

“Liberty should share with Travis!” She smiled and winked at her best friend.

“What?” Liberty blushed, “why me?”

“It makes the most sense, really,” Summer explained, “you two have known each other the longest and it’ll help moving be a lot less stressful for you. Besides, I like this girl already!”

Melody laughed and looked at the other two, “what do you think?”

“Fine,” Liberty said reluctantly though she was now thrilled to be sharing a room with Travis.

“I’m down. Besides Trevor says you’re awesome,” Travis replied.

The landlord smiled and nodded to Melody. He motioned for them all to follow him to his office so all four could sign the roommate agreement and lease information.
